Types of Medical Transport Chairs

FERNO offers three categories of stair chairs:

• Our lightweight stair chairs are designed for two handlers, and their small size makes them manoeuvrable in tight spaces. Because the operators carry the patient’s weight, these chairs are ideal for transferring smaller patients or for moving patients down a minimal number of stairs. Weight limit is approximately 350 lbs.

• Our stair chairs with belted tracks allow operators to “glide” the patient down the stairs.This function takes a great deal of strain off EMS personnel, which keeps patients and operators safer. Weight limit is approximately 500 lbs. ]
