Ulnar Collateral Ligament Reconstruction

Ulnar Collateral Ligament tears are often caused by a traumatic fall or sudden event, as well as, frequent overuse due to high sports activity or demanding loads. Ulnar Collateral Ligament Reconstruction is performed upon rupturing of the ulnar collateral ligament to stabilize and eliminate pain of the inner elbow. An autograft or allograft is used to replace damaged tissue and is attached to the humerus medial epicondyle and the medial aspect of the ulna by creating bone tunnels and then utilizing, sutures, interference screws or anchors for secure fixation1.
