Groote Schuur Hospital started their first robotic gynaecology program with Dr Lamees Ras doing her first robotic assisted total hysterectomy and sacrocolcopexy assisted by Dr Akhona Kama. She is the first gynaecologist who has been trained on the da Vinci Xi®surgical system at Groote Schuur hospital.
